Я перевела один из драбблов, написанных для Katherine (Восьмой/Турлоу), на английский язык, несмотря на то, что английский - не мой родной язык, и выложила его на A Teaspoon And An Open Mind.

You did that for fun, because it's fun, and you know that it's fun Besides, there's nothing unnatural there. I wonder how you've managed to keep off of it for so long, must be one hell of a lot of willpower

Ты уверена в "elude"? Мне кажется, оно больше означает... улизнуть, уклониться от чего-либо в последнюю секунду огромным чудом, а не убежать от чего-то страшного со всех ног. Или так и было задумано? Просто, ИМХО... скользкое оно, это "elude"

Well, I wasn't exactly telling myself to stop. I just never thought of it since English is not my native language, therefore it's far from perfect; and such an ambition as translating into English would look ridiculous.

I don't know, in my head I always write something in English, or think how this or that wil be in English, so the idea of switching it all into the show's mother tongue seems quite normal

It's one thing to think in English and it's another one to actually write in English.
Though you are right. It feels more true to nature to write about the Doctor in English. All in all, it's all in English in my head from the very beginning, and I have difficulties adapting it to the Russian language.
